1. Platform Description
LawyersNearMe ("Platform") is a client communication and case visibility platform for law firms. The Platform provides tools for case management, client messaging, video consultations, document storage, and automated status notifications. LawyersNearMe does not provide legal advice, does not practice law, and does not participate in attorney-client relationships.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Use of this Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and LawyersNearMe. Any attorney-client relationship is formed directly between you and the attorney you engage through the Platform. LawyersNearMe is not a party to any such relationship.
3. Attorney Listings
Attorney listings on the Platform do not constitute endorsements, recommendations, or referrals. While we verify attorney credentials including active bar membership, we do not evaluate the quality of legal services provided. You are responsible for independently verifying an attorney's qualifications and suitability for your legal matter.
4. Subscription Fees
Subscription fees cover technology and platform access for attorneys, including case management, client communication tools, document storage, and directory listing. These are flat-rate SaaS fees — not referral fees or fee-splitting arrangements — in compliance with Georgia Bar Rules 5.4 and 7.2. Clients access the platform at no cost. All legal fees are set by and paid directly to attorneys.
5. Payments
All payments are processed through Stripe. Consultation fees are paid directly to attorneys through the Platform's payment system. LawyersNearMe does not hold, escrow, or distribute legal fees. Refund policies for consultations are set by individual attorneys, subject to our 24-hour cancellation policy.
6. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to update your information as needed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
LawyersNearMe is not liable for the quality, accuracy, or outcome of legal services provided by attorneys on the Platform. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform or from any attorney-client relationship formed through the Platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid in platform fees in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Regulatory Compliance
This Platform operates in compliance with Georgia Bar Rules, including Rule 5.4 (Professional Independence), Rule 7.1 (Communications Concerning a Lawyer's Services), and Rule 7.2 (Advertising). Attorneys listed on the Platform are responsible for their own compliance with applicable bar rules and regulations.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or Platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
